Anything I weave for myself, I'll probably just sell by the metre. I'm still undecided about whether or not to weave for the mill. If I go down that route, then I'll just be weaving what they send me and then sending it back up to them to be sold. I need to weave and keep my first 6 tweeds as they'll be used for assessment purposes, but I'll be able to sell them afterwards!

Thank you. Yes, it was woven on a Hattersley Mark II loom. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before I get my own up and running and weaving some more!

Hello,

how lovely Your tweed is. Did You weave it on a hattersley loom? It looks like it is.

Thank You for the photos, so I could enjoy seeing Your 'first' tweed.

Kind regards
Uta

I'll keep checking back for pictures. Would love to have some authenic tweed. It's been many many years since we've visited Scotland and I yearn to be back there again.

Good luck with the weaving...my cousin is a Harris tweed weaver, it's brilliant to go out to his shed, cuppa in hand to have a natter when we go to visit. I love to hear the clack clack clattering of the loom. Mesmerising!

Hello,

its loveley that I found a blog about weaving in Harris. My husband and I have been to Harris quite a lot of time, at the beginning with the bycycle, and then by airplane und hired care. The first time, there have been quite a lot of weavers at the Golden Road especially in Drinishadre.
I hope, I will read about Your progress.
Best wishes from Germany
